FAQs

  • Children who are 1-7 years will benefit the most from our play area however there's no upper limit and we've had children as old as 11 come and enjoy playing in our role play village. Any child who still enjoys imaginative play or role play will enjoy themselves. We ask older children to be mindful of younger children.

For babies we have a padded baby den with baby toys and pre-walkers enjoy playing with all the role play toys. Babies and children all enjoy our sensory room.

We run a toddler club for just 0-3yr olds on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings.

We ask that parents watch their younger children at all times as some of the role play items can be smaller. We’ve removed anything we think is a choking hazard but as you know, young children love putting everything in their mouths!

  • Unfortunately our play area and particularly our Café space is limited!

  • We use expensive, high quality wooden toys and unfortunately with the nature of child's play, things have to be replaced often from breakages and wear and tear. We hope that the experience we provide makes the cost of admission worthwhile. We also have a limited capacity so we aren't able to take as many admissions as a soft play centre would when it gets busy!

  • Play sessions allow everyone to come and experience a clean and tidy play area with everything where it's supposed to be. We then tidy and clean in between sessions.

  • Yes, each session is 1.5 hrs long and you can arrive at any point; However the session will always finish at the same time so arriving at the start of the session allows more time for play!

  • We didn't when we first opened and feedback from parents was that they preferred a tidy up song so they could prepare their children for leaving and it would also help them to realise the time! There's no requirement to help us tidy up and your children can play up until the end of the session.

  • Unfortunately we have to clean and tidy the Café for the next scheduled session so we ask that everyone leaves at the end of the 1.5 hr session.

  • We open the doors 5 minutes before each session to allow our staff to fully clean and tidy or have their lunch if it’s the lunch break. Of course if we’ve finished tidying early we’ll let you in earlier!

If you’re in early we ask that you wait in the Café and we'll open the play area at the scheduled start time so that everyone who arrives on time can equally enjoy a fully reset play area.

  • We generally encourage customers not to bring a buggy if possible but we completely understand the need to and we know a lot of people are walking to us rather than taking the car.

Our seating area is limited in size but we have a small buggy park. During busier sessions customers can park their buggies in the party room if it's not in use.

  • We have have a Café area that serves freshly ground coffee and sweet treats from French Village Bakery as well as various snacks.

We generally have enough tables and chairs for everyone but some sessions have a higher proportion of adults. We ask that customers who aren’t presently using the Café area to leave their bags and belongings in our bags and shoes area so that other customers can use the table. Please let staff know if you have difficulty getting a table and we’ll make sure you get seated!

  • We don’t serve anything that contains nuts in our Café however the ingredient list on some items may say that it contains trace nuts or that it’s been made somewhere that uses nuts. We have dairy and gluten free snacks and the Glasshouse Café provide us with gluten/dairy free traybakes if they’re open.

Please let us know if you have any allergies whenever you order from our Café.
